Case Studies

Our news outlets are too often filled with the harrowing stories of knife related violence among young people in Sheffield. Below we have collected some tragic examples to demonstrate why our organisation is attempting to change the way young males are engaging with one another and the wider community.

⚠ Case Study: Harvey Willgoose

Harvey Willgoose, just 15 years of age, was stabbed and subsequently killed in the courtyard of a local Sheffield Catholic High School in February 2025.

Reports from the BBC acknowledge that many of Harvey's fellow pupils were aware that the perpetrator and a number of other students carried a knife, however due to the normalisation of this issue it was overlooked.

⚠ Case Study: "Second charge over stabbing of 14 year old boy"

Most recently, two young men, both just 17 have been charged with the stabbing of an unidentified boy only 14 years of age.

The victim was attacked in Market Square in the Woodhouse area of Sheffield on 18 March 2026. The Police District Commander has been cited as stating, "I am deeply concerned by what feels like a growing disregard for human life" as similar incidents appear to be on rise.
